What is webcasting? The word webcast is derived from "web" and "broadcast". Its use has varied over the past decade by different types of organization and as the nature of the medium came into public use. Webcasting is the "transmission of audio or video content over the internet". A webcast uses streaming media technology to take a single content source and distribute it to many simultaneous listeners/viewers.
How can I watch or Listen to an event? In order to watch or listen to an even you will need to have Windows Media Player Version 9 or better. The most current version can be downloaded by visiting Windows Media Player Download
Do I need a High Speed Access to the Internet to watch or Listen? Yes and No. To listen to any live audio Webcast you can utilize any type of connection to the internet, which would include dial-up. To watch a taped or live video event a high speed connection (DSL or Cable) to the internet will be required.
How can I get the clearest webcast video picture? Because webcasting technology is relatively new, webcast video pictures are most clear when they are seen at normal size and will get more grainy as you enlarge the picture. If you are viewing the webcast on your computer, it will be most grainy when you enlarge to full screen. Our webcasts are filmed in high definition, so if you'd like a crystal clear version of a webcast, simply order a DVD.
What happens if my computer does not play the webcast or it stops midway? Often times America Online (AOL) has problems playing webcasts. Try viewing the webcast through your Internet Explorer. Also older computers or computers operating on the Internet using phone lines may have a problem. Try changing to DSL
